Rubio tells G7 foreign ministers US will continue to participate in negotiations on Ukraine

At a meeting with the foreign ministers of other Group of Seven (G7) countries, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio emphasized Washington's commitment to continued participation in negotiations to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, it was stated in a written statement released by State Department Deputy Press Secretary Tommy Pigott, APA reports.

According to him, Rubio met earlier that day with the heads of diplomatic missions of the other G7 countries on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference. He "reaffirmed the US commitment to maintaining stability in Venezuela and negotiating an end" to the conflict in Ukraine. As Pigott clarified, the US Secretary of State discussed with his colleagues "current issues, such as ongoing conflicts that threaten peace and stability in Africa, Europe, and the Middle East, as well as security challenges in the Indo-Pacific and the Western Hemisphere."

As specified in the document, "Rubio and his colleagues reaffirmed the importance of strengthening cooperation among G7 countries to respond to global threats to peace and stability."
