A powerful snowstorm in the United States has left the death toll at 51, APA reports, citing NBC News.
The fatalities were recorded in the states of Louisiana, Tennessee and Kentucky.
In New York, the bodies of 10 people were found on the streets.
Earlier, it was reported that deaths linked to the snowstorm had also occurred in Massachusetts, Ohio, Arkansas, Texas and Kansas.
According to the US National Weather Service, freezing conditions in the Midwest and Northeast are expected to persist until Thursday.
The natural disaster affected an area stretching from Arkansas to New England, covering around 2,100 kilometers.
