Rebels gain control of Libyan capital, Muammar Gaddafiâ€™s destiny is unknown

Tripoli-APA. Libyan rebels captured capital Tripoli which was under the control of armed units subordinated to Muammar Gaddafi. APA reports that the great part of the city is under the control of the opposition. NATO warcrafts also support the attack of the rebels. Both sides has great losses, 1500 people are reported killed during the last 12 hours.

The rebel troops landed by sea to re-inforce an uprising inside the capital, signaling that the bloody endgame to the civil war was fast approaching, with revolutionary forces surrounding the city.

APA reports quoting â€œRIA Novostiâ€ that Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi’s son Saif al-Islam will be transported to the Hague International Court on Monday, a prosecutor for the International Criminal Court (ICC) said.
Earlier reports said, that the Libyan leader was arrested as rebels took control most of the country’s capital of Tripoli, but Luis Moreno Ocampo, a chief prosecutor for the International Criminal Court, rejected the reports saying that Gaddafi’s son Saif al-Islam was arrested and would be handed over to the Hague. Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi’s eldest son, Mohammad, was giving an interview to Al Jazeera, when gun shots erupted in his house and he was arrested.
According to Al Jazeera, Mohammad was living with his wife, children and mother, who has been long divorced to Gaddafi.

Gaddafiâ€™s destiny is still unknown. Though the â€œReutersâ€ released information about the Gaddafiâ€™s arrest, then this news was denied. According to some reports, Gaddafâ€™s refused to leave his office and offered the rebels to stop the military operations and start the negotiations. According to lst information, Gaddafi said that he was in Tripoli and wouldnâ€™t surrender.
