There are plans to develop joint tourism routes or packages between Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, and the city of Shymkent in Kazakhstan, Beksultan Adilkhanov, Head of the city's Department of Tourism, Foreign Relations and Creative Industries, told journalists, APA-Economics' correspondent dispatched to Shymkent reports.
According to him, the Baku-Shymkent-Baku flight was also launched to achieve these goals.
“This flight will give an additional boost to relations between our countries and cities. Today, we have brought together all tourism operators and agencies operating in this field.
Relevant memorandums and agreements have already been signed. Within the framework of these documents, joint tourism routes will be developed,” Beksultan Adilkhanov noted.
He said that the launch of the new flight will have a positive impact on the development of tourism ties between the countries, as tourists primarily look at whether there is a direct air connection between cities when choosing a destination.
“This undoubtedly creates great convenience for tourists. We believe that there will be a large flow of tourists to both Baku and Shymkent, and we will work actively on this. Together with Turkistan and Tashkent, Shymkent is one of the centers of the southern region. About 5 million people live around Shymkent,” Beksultan Adilkhanov stressed.
