An Azerbaijani citizen wanted under an Interpol Red Notice has been detained in Georgia, APA’s local bureau reports, citing the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to the information, the person was wanted at the request of Azerbaijani law enforcement agencies on charges of hooliganism and intentional damage to another person’s property.
As a result of investigative measures, the Azerbaijani citizen was detained on the premises of the Sarpi border checkpoint.
Extradition procedures stipulated by law are currently underway regarding the detained person.
