The Azerbaijani Parliament told APA that the amendments to the Criminal Code’s article #295 are expected to be discussed in this regard.
Amendments envisage AZN 3000-5000 fine or up to 6 years imprisonment for judges, who deliberately pass unfair judgments, decisions and rulings. If the same actions are related with the unfair judgment of court on imprisonment and cause serious consequences, judges will be sentenced from 8 up to 12 years in prison.
The draft law is expected to be discussed at the parliament’s next session.
The current legislation envisages AZN 5000 or up to 3 years imprisonment for judges, who deliberately pass unfair judgments, decisions and rulings. If the same actions are related with the unfair judgment of court on imprisonment and cause serious consequences, judges will be sentenced from 5 up to 8 years in prison.
