ICYF-DC told APA that water wells will be drilled in the most affected regions by the drought like Tanzania at the expense of funds from the charity campaign on Azerbaijan. As one-third of Africa is the arid zone, a large portion of the population is deprived of potable water, as well as water for other needs. Using water mixed with sewage, full of toxic compounds by many people causes communicable diseases such as cholera and malaria.
The main goal of the campaign is to support the drilling of new water wells in Africa at the expense of funds to be collected within one month. The first phase of the campaign, being held on the initiative of Eurasian Regional Center of the ICYFDC was held in Ramadan month in 2011. More than $ 80 000 funds were collected for 1200 families suffering from hunger within the humanitarian campaign “Extend helping hand to Somali. The volunteers, who went to Somalia at their own expense, distributed this fund to over 5000 people in the form of food.
Eurasian Regional Center of the Islamic Conference Youth Forum for Dialogue and Cooperation urge all those who would like to extend their hand of help to children of Africa within Ramadan month (from July 10 to August 10).
