This was stated by Ali Ahmadov, Deputy Chairman - Executive Secretary of the New Azerbaijan Party and Deputy Prime Minister.
He noted that in some countries drugs are exempt from VAT or subject to VAT in varying degrees:
"We are investigating it, and I believe that a decision appropriate for Azerbaijan will soon be taken. In general, serious efforts are underway in Azerbaijan to provide citizens with quality drugs with no exaggerated prices, and these efforts will continue. The goal is that Azerbaijan’s pharmaceutical market should operate on the basis of sound criteria and principles,” he said.
