The Baku Court of Grave Crimes on Friday resumed the trial of Marat Ueldanov, a Russian citizen of Armenian origin who was detained in Baku on charges of drug trafficking.
At the end of the trial, the jury pronounced their verdict that sentenced Marat Ueldanov to eight years in prison, APA reported.
Russian citizen Marat Ueldanov was detained in Baku on July 28 last year on charges of drug trafficking.
After that, Armenian and pro-Armenian media outlets based in Russia released information in reference to Ueldanov’s sister Marianna Mirzoyan that Ueldanov was allegedly detained for his Armenian national identity. His sister said that Marat had adopted his spouse’s surname.
