APA reports that the congress organized by the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan is being held under the slogan “Unity for Development".
The Congress focuses on equality of women’s rights, their participation in economic, social, socio-cultural spheres and their role in ensuring gender equality.
The congress is attended by 2000 representatives selected from all cities and regions of Azerbaijan, representatives of foreign countries, state and government agencies, NGOs. Members of the working bodies, Secretariat commission, Mandate commission and Editorial commission will be elected at the congress.
A message will be issued on behalf of the congress representatives to Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev, UN, Council of Europe and other international organizations, the resolution of the congress will be adopted.
Chief of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ramiz Mehdiyev, Deputy Prime Minister Elchin Efendiev and other officials are attending the congress.
Chairperson of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs Hijran Huseynova delivered a keynote speech and welcomed the participants.
Following this, Head of the Department on Humanitarian Policy Issues of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan Fatma Abdullazade read the letter of congratulations of President Ilham Aliyev to the participants of the congress.
