There are no problems in the construction of the 6 km circled race route, said Rahimov.
“We are trying for the preparation not to create any problems for the residents of the capital. Preparations are continuing very carefully to avoid any traffic jam,” the minister said.
Rahimov added that a ready-made two-storey building, 300 meters in length and 21 meters in width, will be installed for Formula 1 pit stops and paddocks on the Azadlig square.
With regard to some media reports that about $150 million will be spent on F1 race, the minister said counting the entire budget from the beginning till the end is very difficult.
“I can assure you that the 6-km race route costs $12 million and the pit-stop building – about $30 million. Work is underway and the budget will be announced after completion. Nothing remains secret,” Rahimov said, noting that the budget for the race is much less than $150 million.
