Azerbaijani MPs dissatisfied with sale prices of medicines

APA reports that Chief of Main Customs Control Office of the State Customs Committee, Mirgasim Vahabov informed about the draft law at the meeting, which was chaired by Chairman of Committee Ziyad Samadzadeh. He note that the new draft law will play an important role in integration of Azerbaijan to the world economy by increasing competitiveness of country’s economy: “The document was drafted in accordance with the standards of World Trade Organization”.

During the discussions, though the medicines were exempted from customs duties, Chairman Samadzadeh, MPs Vahid Ahmadov and Ali Masimli expressed their concern over expensive prices of medicines. Samadzadeh noted that same medicines are sold for various prices Baku.

In connection with this, the Ministry of Health has conducted monitoring in all drug-stores.

Note that the document contains 5 chapters, 23 provisions. After discussions, the draft law was recommended to the second reading in the plenary meeting of Milli Majlis.
