Baku. Konul Kamilgizi - APA. In Azerbaijan, it will be possible to determine in advance the zone of growing activity and the area where earthquakes may happen.
Director of the Institute of Management Systems of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) told APA that a new intelligent system has been set up for this purpose.
Aliyev said the Institute has installed ten stations in the country.
“We will be able to determine the earthquake focuses in the country through the analysis of all data obtained from the stations. Such a system has not been existed up to now. The intelligent system has already been tested and it has given good results.
The first phase will be completed by the end of the year and some data will be obtained in this period from the 10 stations. The second phase will start next year. In this phase, the number of stations will be increased,” he said.
Stressing that they don’t indent to interfere in scientists’ work, Aliyev said scientisits are developing instruments for seismologists: “Instruments are developed by cyberneticists and used by seismologists. This system will allow us to determine the place of abnormal seismic processes in advance. According to our observations, 13 seismic focuses have been specified in the country. We will say in future in which focus an earthquake may occur”, Aliyev said.
