Houses, social and infrastructure facilities were damaged in Zagatala, Balakan and Gakh regions as a result of the 7-magnitude quake occurred in Zagatala on May 7, 2012.
The construction of 5263 houses has already been completed in three regions. 4006 of these houses are in Zagatala, 521 in Gakh, 736 in Balaken. 18 houses are under construction.
As of June 30, 2014, the construction of 37 schools for 10300 pupils and 2 kindergartens for 135 seats were completed. 480-pupil school building in Mukhakh village of Zagatala has been reconstructed.
The Department of the National Security Ministry in Zagatala and a cannery in Mukhakh village of Zagatala have been inaugurated. The construction of three-entry fire stations in Shaki, Gakh and Balakan regions has been completed.
Moreover, the construction of two-entry fire stations is underway in Aliabad and Chobankol villages of Zagatala region, Almali village of Gakh region and Gabagchol village of Balakan region. The construction of Azerbaijan Teachers Institute’s Zagatala branch started in 2013 is about to be completed.
Totally, AZN 36 916,56 were paid to the quake-affected 7478 families since May, 2012 up to June 30, 2014.
Necessary measures are underway to fully eliminate quake consequences.
