She said that 10 doctors were dismissed over maternal deaths during the past eleven months and administrative measures were taken regarding 77 medical officers: “Some of them were toughly reprimanded.”
Leyla Rzaguliyeva also said that investigation is underway on the recent – the 24th maternal death.
The commission chairperson also commented on the reasons of the deaths: “Sometimes pregnant women are not registered and receive treatment in various private hospitals. Some of them suffer from diseases and conceal their problems.”
