A 30-member delegation of the world-renowned MTP (Most Traveled People) international travelers club visited Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur as part of their tour and became acquainted with the city of Shusha, APA’s Karabakh bureau reports.

The travelers, led by American Charles Veley, founder of the MTP club, first visited the central square of Shusha, where they paid respects to the statues of prominent Azerbaijani figures—Natavan, Bulbul, and Uzeyir Hajibeyli—which had been vandalized.

The guests were informed about the city of Shusha, its condition during the occupation, and the reconstruction work being carried out. It was noted that during the thirty years of occupation, historical buildings, mosques, and monuments in Shusha were subjected to Armenian vandalism. After the liberation of Shusha, large-scale restoration and reconstruction efforts began. Along with infrastructure development, the restoration of the city’s authentic historical appearance and its cultural and historical monuments has commenced.

The delegation, consisting of travelers from 15 countries, also visited the house of Khurshidbanu Natavan, the area with Khan’s spring, the fortress walls, and the Shusha tomb.

The visitors also enjoyed the stunning panorama of the Jidir Duzu plain.

During the three-day trip, the delegation is scheduled to travel by car along the route: Fuzuli – Khojavend – Shusha – Khankendi – Khojaly – Aghdam – Kalbajar – Lachin – Zangilan – Jabrayil.

This trip offers an excellent opportunity to promote the liberated territories within the framework of “dark tourism” and to showcase extensive construction and reconstruction works.

Over the past four years, major international travel delegations have visited Karabakh and East Zangezur thirteen times.
