The HPV vaccine is one of the important vaccines that protects people from cancer in the world. Negotiations are underway with the Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan regarding the HPV vaccine, and we have received positive feedback in this direction, Hande Harmanci, the representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Azerbaijan, said, APA reports.
"However, it is not possible to provide accurate information on this topic at the moment. This vaccine may be included in the state program within a few years," she noted.
Note that the HPV vaccine, which has been used since 2006 against the human papillomavirus, which causes cervical cancer, has already been included in the preventive vaccination calendar in the vast majority of countries in the WHO European region. The vaccines included in the vaccination calendar are provided free of charge by the state.
