In the first four months of this year, a total of 735,969 entries into the territory of Azerbaijan were registered by citizens of 179 countries, including the Russian Federation, the State Migration Service said in response to APA's inquiry.
It was noted that during this period, 21,888 decisions were made regarding the extension of temporary stay and issuance of temporary residence permits to citizens of 127 countries, including the Russian Federation.
"At the same time, in the first four months of this year, the State Migration Service issued a total of 6,228 administrative decisions concerning citizens of 109 countries, including the Russian Federation, due to violations of migration legislation. Among them, 668 foreigners were administratively expelled from the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan and their re-entry into the country has been restricted for a period defined by law," the statement said.
Note that according to Decision No. 561 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated December 29, 2024, starting from January 1, 2025, the period of temporary stay in Azerbaijan for citizens of the Russian Federation and stateless persons permanently residing in the Russian Federation — who enter the country under a visa-free regime — cannot exceed 90 days within a calendar year.
