Information circulating on social media platforms about compensation payments for privatization vouchers is fake, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Media Development Agency said in a joint statement, APA reports.
The statement says that false information is being spread on social media and various messaging platforms claiming that compensation will allegedly be paid for privatization vouchers, that registration is underway, and that people need to contact certain mobile phone numbers for this purpose.
"The reported information does not reflect the truth and is intended to create confusion among citizens. Citizens are advised not to trust such fake announcements, not to contact unknown phone numbers, not to provide their bank card details, ID information, SMS verification codes or any other personal or financial information to third parties under any circumstances, and not to make any payments.
Investigations into the fake information are currently underway," the statement said.
