The remains of martyr Ayaz Askerali Zarbaliyev, who was believed to have gone missing in the First Karabakh War, were brought to the Goychay district today, APA's Shirvan bureau reports.
The remains of the martyr were handed over to his family in the village of Potu, and a farewell ceremony was held.
Village residents, family members of the martyr, veterans, as well as employees of the regional executive authority, law enforcement agencies, and public representatives attended the farewell ceremony.
After the funeral prayer, the martyr's body was buried in the Goychay City Martyrs' Alley, and prayers were recited.
During the burial, the national anthem was performed by a military orchestra, and a gun salute was fired.
Note that Ayaz Askerali Zarbaliyev was born in 1969 in the village of Potu, Goychay. He went missing in 1993 during the fighting in the village of Charakdar, Kalbajar district.
