On the initiative of the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Sabina Aliyeva, a meeting was held with the parents of the servicemen of the Azerbaijan Army, Agshin Babirov and Huseyn Akhundov, who went missing due to unfavorable weather conditions in the Shahbuz district of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic along the border with Armenia and were arrested in Armenia, APA reports.
During the meeting, the Ombudsman said that she strongly condemned the unlawful detention of our servicemen in Armenia, as well as the inhumane threatment of our soldier, and that she appealed to the relevant institutions regarding this issue. S. Aliyeva stressed, that in her letter addressed to the relevant international and regional organizations, she demanded to ensure the rights of our servicemen during their detention in Armenia, to provide them with the opportunity to communicate with their families through videocalls, as well as to investigate videos and photos depicted the inhumane treatment of our soldier.
Furthermore, the Commissioner said that the condition of our servicemen is being taken care of and noted that necessary measures have been taken to release them and return them to the country.
