“We are here to support, accompany and encourage our young people as they participate in this major global event. We are very proud to be here today,” a participant from New Caledonia said, APA reports.
The participant was speaking at a rally supporting the Kanaky–New Caledonia and French Polynesia (Maʻohi Nui–Tahiti) teams participating in the FIFA U-15 World Championship and Festival in Baku.
The participant said a small delegation from Kanaky–New Caledonia had travelled to support the young footballers.
“Kanaky–New Caledonia is a small country, but our young people are here to represent us, and that is a great source of pride. They will face young footballers from around the world. We are accompanying them in a spirit of respect, humility and modesty,” the participant stressed.
