“We are very happy that the younger generation can come to Baku and take part in competitions. That is precisely why we are here,” said Touhani Leska from French Polynesia, APA reports.
Leska was speaking at a rally supporting the Kanaky–New Caledonia and French Polynesia (Maʻohi Nui–Tahiti) teams participating in the FIFA U-15 World Championship and Festival in Baku.
Leska said that, together with colleague Moitini, they represent the pro-independence Tavini political group.
“We are here to support our football team,” Leska added.
