A total of 371 people have been detained during protests in several Italian cities against government policies, rising fuel prices and inflation, APA reports, citing ANSA.
Police checked the identity documents of 4,200 people and took 371 to police stations for further checks. Those detained included 110 minors and 69 foreign nationals.
Anti-government student protests began in Italy a week ago, influenced by demonstrations that have continued in France for a month.
Other young people and workers subsequently joined the protests against high fuel prices, living costs and rents.
A general strike called by several trade unions is scheduled for October 30.
