More than 300 different organ transplant operations were performed in 2024. Kidney and liver transplant operations predominate, said Yegana Abbasova, the Chairperson of the Coordinating Center for Organ Donation and Transplantation of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan, in response to APA's inquiry.
She also noted that the number of people who filled out a special form to donate their organs after death at the Coordinating Center for Organ Donation and Transplantation of the Ministry of Health and registered has increased 3 times compared to previous years.
According to her, in the near future, people who want to become voluntary donors will be able to apply via the mygov.az platform.
