The 2024 Nobel Prizes have been awarded to this year’s laureates in the capital of Sweden, Stockholm, APA reports citing the official Nobel website.
The award ceremony was attended by King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden.
Note that the ceremony is held annually on December 10th, the anniversary of the death of Alfred Nobel in 1896. In accordance with Nobel’s will, the Peace Prize is awarded in Oslo, while all other prizes are presented in Stockholm.
This year, the Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to Nihon Hidankyo, a Japanese organization dedicated to nuclear disarmament. The Nobel Prize in Literature went to Han Kang, while the Nobel Prize in Economics was awarded to Daron Acemoglu, Simon Johnson, and James A. Robinson. The Nobel Prize in Physics was presented to John J. Hopfield and Geoffrey E. Hinton, and the Nobel Prize in Chemistry was awarded to David Baker, Demis Hassabis, and John M. Camper. The Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine was awarded to Victor Ambros and Gary Ruvkun.
