Ziya Mammadov refutes the reports on high cost of highway construction in Azerbaijan

Baku. Konul Kamilgizi – APA. ‘Sometimes, media outlets report that highway construction costs high in Azerbaijan. As if, the highways in Azerbaijan are the most expensive in the entire world. But indeed, it is not right’, Minister of Transport Ziya Mammadov told journalists, APA reports.

He said that in fact, Azerbaijan constructs the cheapest roads: ‘Highway projects caused a number of resettlements, including private houses, other facilities and communications lines. As all of them are related to the transport project, at first sight, the price, set for it, seems too high. But the research shows that the price of a highway, within total funds is very suitable and just’.

Mammadov noted that firstly it is considered to construct pedestrian passage near Shafa stadium: ‘Thereupon, the President gave instruction in this regard. In addition, a new transportation hub is under construction there. And it will positively impact on lightening of traffic density’.
