According to statistics, 2707 houses out of 5725 damaged houses have been handed over in Zagatala, 275 in Gakh and 196 in Balakan. 1915 houses are still being constructed.
24 schools for 5900 pupils and a 55-seat kindergarten have been inaugurated up to now. So, 11 schools for 3360 pupils and a 55-seat kindergarten have been opened in Zagatala, 2 schools for 380 pupils in Balakan and 9 schools for 1300 pupils in Gakh. In the future, 9 more schools are expected to be inaugurated in Zagatala, 2 in Gakh and 1 in Sheki.
As of April 1, 2013, AZN 17,734,000 was paid to quake-affected people for reconstruction works. These funds have been sent via post to 5077 families.
Quake hit Zagatala on May 7, 2012. Houses, social and infrastructure facilities have been damaged as a result of this quake and following aftershocks in Zagatala, Balakan and Gakh regions.
Operative staff has been established to eliminate the consequences of the quake, commission has been created to determine damaged homes and facilities, the sites have been inspected.
According to the order of the Cabinet of Ministers issued on May 8, 2012 under the instruction of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, AZN 20 million was allocated from the Reserve Fund to eliminate the consequences of the quake.
AZN 300 million was allocated from 2012 state budget for the elimination of the consequences of the emergency situations that occurred in the country and AZN 100 million under the order of the Cabinet of Ministers issued on October 24, 2012.
