Azerbaijani Parliament told APA that the amendments to articles 171.1 and 171.2 of the Criminal Code may be discussed.
According to the amendments, those involving juveniles in prostitution and other immoral acts will face from 5 up to 8 years of imprisonment. In case the same act is committed by force or threat of force, as well as by an organized group, the penalty will be from 6 up to 12 years of imprisonment. The draft amendment is expected to be discussed at Azerbaijani Parliament in the near future.
According to the valid provisions of both articles, those involving juveniles in prostitution and other immoral acts face from 3 up to 6 years of imprisonment and from 4 up to 8 years of imprisonment if committed by force or threat of force, as well as by an organized group.
