Temperature to be above normal in Azerbaijan in summer

Baku. Kamala Guliyeva – APA. The weather forecast for summer has been made public in Azerbaijan. Senior hydrologist of the National Hydrometeorology Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources Asif Verdiyev told APA that the temperature is expected to be close and above normal in May, June and July. Anomalous heat is not excluded in summer days either.

Seasonal forecast is prepared in 5 regional centers of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), as well as North EurAsia Climate Centre (NEACC) and South East European Virtual Climate Change Center (SEEVCCC) and broadcasted for all member countries of the organization. Season forecast is based on a more appropriate model covering numerous digital, dynamic and statistical models.

The European Center for Medium range Weather Forecasting (ECMWF) forecasts that the temperature will be 0.5…1 C above normal and precipitation below normal in summer.

According to the forecast of EURASIP (ECMWF, Meteo France and Meteo UK Meteorological Centers Consortium - a combination of 3 models) the temperature will be 60-70% above normal in Azerbaijan in summer.

International Research Institute for Climate and Society (IRI) forecasts that precipitation will be normal and temperature 50-60% above normal.

ECO-Iran Meteorological Organization forecasts that in summer, the precipitations will be close to normal and the temperature will be normal, as well above normal in Azerbaijan.

According to the prognosis of the South East Europe Climate Outlook Forum (SEECOF), in summer, the temperature will be close to normal and above normal in some places.

Roshydromet forecasts that the temperature will be above normal and precipitation will be below normal.
