The Azerbaijani Parliament told APA that in accordance with this, additional article to the Code of Execution of Punishments and Law on ensuring rights and freedoms of imprisoned persons can be put up for discussion at the parliament.

According to the law, irrespective of their citizenship, all prisoners will have the right to use the internet resources over the world for time within the certain period and under appropriate control. Certain daily limit will be set for prisoners. The prisoners will be allowed to keep in touch with their relatives and family members via internet. It aims to operatively inform prisoners about ongoing process and civilization via internet.

The current legislation of Azerbaijan prohibits Internet access in jails. The draft is expected to be submitted to the Parliament this year.

An extra article on usage of Skype by foreigners imprisoned in Azerbaijan is expected to be approved in legislation.
