Baku.Shamil Alibeyli – APA. The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Council of State Support to NGOs under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan have signed a memorandum of understanding to formalize their partnership in the implementation of the project entitled “Socio-economic development activities in Azerbaijan”.
APA reports that the memorandum was signed by Assistant Administrator for the Bureau for Europe and Eurasia Ms. Paige Alexander and Chairman of the Council of State Support to NGOs Azay Guliyev.
Guliyev said that the memorandum aims to formalize the partnership between the USAID and Council of State Support to NGOs in the implementation of SEDA project, carried out jointly with the Ministry of Economic Development and to help Araz, Guba-Khachmaz and Ganja-Kazakh regions having weak civil societies.
Ms. Alexander said that the both organizations cognize the importance of equitable economic and social development and support strong civic participation.
