Azerbaijani Parliament told APA that the draft law had not been included in the agenda of the spring session and is not expected to be included in the agenda of the next sessions.
The reason is a number of unresolved controversial issues regarding the draft law.
The project envisages a ban on smoking in all types of public transport, cinemas, competitions, enclosed concert halls, educational institutions, restaurants and service facilities.
The draft law excludes 3 enclosed places – old people’s homes, prisons and mental hospitals. Smoking is allowed in these places.
Amount of fines for the violation of the rules would have been determined in accordance with the Code of Administrative Offences.
