The visit is related to the design work of the first underwater seismic stations to be installed near “Umid”, “Guneshly” and “Bahar” oilfields by the ANAS Republic Seismological Service Center.
Press service of the Center told APA that the guests met with Director General of the Center Gurban Yetirmishli. Representatives of SOCAR's Oil and Gas Research and Design Institute and the Caspian Sea Oil Fleet also attended the discussions on completion of the underwater seismic stations installation project.
It was noted that construction of seismic stations in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea would be completed by autumn this year for the first time in the CIS region. The initial installation will be carried out near “Bahar” oilfield.
The number of stations is expected to reach 10 in the future. Thus, it will be able to study better underwater seismic activity in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea.
