Baku – APA. The initiative of the Islamic Conference Youth Forum for Dialogue and Cooperation (ICYF-DC) has been approved at the second session of the Labor Ministers of the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Baku.

ICYF-DC told APA that Elmeddin Mehdiyev, representative of the Forum’s Istanbul Office and head of the delegation at the session said that an extra paragraph on improving the number and quality of vocational schools in the OIC member states on the initiative of ICYF-DC has been added to the final communiqué adopted at the session. The main objective of this initiative is to achieve economic growth and partial elimination of unemployment in the OIC countries through training of new personnel in the field of engineering and mechanical engineering.

It was noted that one of the problems of unemployment in the Muslim countries is that the number of highly-educated persons is more than the vacancies in the labor market and the number of the young people with vocational education does not need the demands of the labor market. So, companies face difficulties in finding proper professionals. The above-mentioned paragraph of the communiqué asks the Islamic Development Bank and Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Industry to support the initiative.
