Earth-threatening powerful solar storm not expected

He said that the observations around the Sun give reason for saying it. Noting that the Sun is uninterruptedly observed, Jalilov underlined that rotating around the Sun 2 satellites are conducting relevant observations. According to him, the activation in the Sun will not cause powerful storms, nor pose a threat to the Earth: “The solar magnetic activity is not strong. It is impossible to point out the time of peak of activity. The current observations show that the Earth-threatening solar storm is not expected.”

Professor of the University of Reading Chris Debby said in BBC live program that powerful solar storm is expected today. Natural phenomenon can negatively affect the operation of electrical equipments and the condition of people.

According to him, the peak of the storm will be observed on Saturday night. Solar wind will be felt from Saturday till Sunday 03:00.
