Addressing the event Madat Guliyev said the meeting is held under the instructions of Justice Minister Fikrat Mammadov.
“Such an event is held for the first time. The Azerbaijani government takes care of detainees. New jails are being built. A new facility meeting international standards has been built in Shaki. It will be opened soon,” he said.
Guliyev said Penitentiary Service employees, whose actions contradict the law are punished. “Moreover, we are doing our best so that the meals are high-quality. We do not want them to demand anything from their families. In the near future we will take measures so that the detainees are held in the facilities in their regions,” he said.
