Azerbaijani national keyboard to prevent carpal tunnel syndrome

Baku. Kamala Guliyeva – APA. Azerbaijani national keyboard will prevent carpal tunnel syndrome, one of the authors of the keyboard, corresponding member of ANAS, head of the laboratory of Institute of Cybernetics Asaf Hajiyev told APA.

He said the new keyboard has already been adopted by "Microsoft" company and got a patent from the State Committee on Standardization, Metrology and Patents of Azerbaijan. "Microsoft" will include the keyboard in the new version of Windows. The national keyboard will be available in summer. There is an agreement with Microsoft in this regard.

Hajiyev said the new keyboard has many advantages over Russian and English alphanumeric keyboards: “Russian alphanumeric keyboards were previously used. Later, English alphanumeric keyboards were preferred. The missing Azerbaijani letters were put in different places. But English alphanumeric keyboards are worse than Russian ones. Order of Russian letters reduced finger movement and offered higher typing speed. While creating national keyboard we decided to develop the order reflecting the characteristics of the Azerbaijani language. This keyboard will prevent carpal tunnel syndrome. Incorrect finger movement causes problems in the nervous system. This disease is observed generally in people working with computer. The new keyboard offers higher typing speed than Russian and English alphanumeric keyboards.
