At the meeting with the chairmen of the ANAS Young Scientists Councils Akif Alizadeh said that not knowing the English language is a disadvantage for young scientists: “Young person not knowing the English language can not be engaged in science. I am chairman of diploma commission both at Baku State University and Azerbaijan State Oil Academy. Most of the young people know neither English nor Russian. Surely, it is important to know the state language. However compared with human sciences most of the books on natural sciences are in the Russian language. What can a man do, unable to read them?”

Alizadeh urged young scientists to be active: “Students should also work at the ANAS institutions. Science is improving. There is a great need for young scientists. At present, the average age of the ANAS members reached 60-65-70."
