Above 6.3 magnitude quakes may hit Absheron peninsula every 17 years - <span style="color: red;">PHOTOSESSION

APA reports that the research conducted by Director of Geodynamics and Seismology department of the Institute of Geology Fakhraddin Gadirov, senior scientific worker of the Department Gulam Babayev, head of the Department of Earth and Environmental Science of the Institute of Methodologies for Environmental Analysis of the National Research Council of Italy, professor Luciano Telesca covers earthquake patterns from Absheron peninsula to the Kopet Dag in Turkmenistan.

 

Luciano Telesca said that as a result of researches conducted by Azerbaijani scientists, new data about time sequence of the seismic activity of Absheron-Balkan zone were obtained. Fakhraddin Gadirov noted that the periodicity of earthquake of above 6,3-magnitude in Absheron peninsula can reach 17 years. According to him, after the classification of earthquakes on time is completed, they will be classified by regions.
