The Great Return process to Azerbaijan’s liberated territories continues in accordance with the instructions of President Ilham Aliyev.
The latest groups of former internally displaced persons have departed for the Karkijahan settlement of Khankendi city; the villages of Badara, Khanyurdu, Khanabad, Ballija and Tazabina in Khojaly district; and the villages of Kolatagh, Hasanriz, Ashaghi Oratagh and Chapar in Aghdara district.
The returning families had previously been temporarily accommodated in various parts of Azerbaijan, mainly in dormitories, sanatoriums and administrative buildings.
At this stage, eight families comprising 36 people have been resettled in Karkijahan settlement of Khankendi.
In Khojaly district, five families comprising 13 people have returned to Badara village, four families comprising 10 people to Khanyurdu, eight families comprising 31 people to Khanabad, three families comprising eight people to Ballija, and 14 families comprising 71 people to Tazabina.
In Aghdara district, 12 families comprising 36 people have been resettled in Kolatagh village, six families comprising 30 people in Hasanriz, 12 families comprising 49 people in Ashaghi Oratagh, and 15 families comprising 51 people in Chapar.
The residents returning to their native lands expressed gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva for the comprehensive state support provided to them.
They also thanked the Azerbaijani Army, its soldiers and officers for liberating the country’s territories from occupation and paid tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country.
