In accordance with the Great Return plan, the process of resettling the population in the Sarijali village of Aghdam has begun. In the first stage, we cleared the territory of Sarijali village of mines. As a second stage, agricultural lands around Sarijali village should be cleared so that the village population can work here, said Chairman of the Board of the Mine Action Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Vugar Suleymanov, APA reports.
It was noted that Sarijali village is one of the areas that fell on the former line of contact. Mining has been taking place here for about 30 years: "There is excessive contamination here. But our forces are working here quite successfully. Currently, work is nearing completion in the "SARIJALI 008" area. After completion, there will be a transition to the next area. In general, after the 44-day Patriotic War, about 35 thousand hectares of land in the Aghdam district have been cleared of mines and unexploded ordnance."
It was noted that demining activities are being carried out in all liberated territories, including Gazakh. To date, more than 206 thousand hectares of land have been completely cleared of mines and unexploded ordnance, and about 199 thousand mines and unexploded ordnance have been detected and neutralized.
