Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina Nenad Nešić paid an official visit to Azerbaijan at the invitation of the Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel-General Kamaladdin Heydarov, Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) told APA.
On April 11, the guests first came to the Alley of Honor and paid tribute to Heydar Aliyev, the National Leader of Azerbaijan, the architect and founder of modern Azerbaijan, and laid wreaths and flowers in front of his grave.
The memory of prominent ophthalmologist scientist, and academician Mrs. Zarifa Aliyeva was also honored and flowers were laid on her grave.
Then the guests who came to the Alley of Martyrs paid their respects to the heroes of the Motherland who died in the struggle for the independence and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, laid flowers on their graves, and laid a wreath in front of the "Eternal Torch" monument.
Later, Minister Kamaladdin Heydarov met with the delegation headed by Nenad Nešić, Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Warmly welcoming the guests, Minister K. Heydarov first of all proudly recalled that under the wise leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, the glorious Army of Azerbaijan liberated our ancestral lands occupied by Armenia for nearly 30 years, and the territorial integrity of our country was restored.
Noting the close cooperation between Azerbaijan and Bosnia and Herzegovina, the minister said that there are good opportunities for expanding relations between the respective institutions of our countries on emergency management.
Giving detailed information about the activities of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, as well as the actions taken to prevent and eliminate the consequences of emergencies in our republic, Mr. K. Heydarov emphasized that it is mutually beneficial to develop cooperative relations between the relevant institutions of the two countries in various fields, the exchange of scientific and technical knowledge and experiences on disaster protection, and the training of personnel. In particular, it was noted that the Academy of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan, which has gained a lot of experience in the training of highly qualified specialists in a short period of time, has a great potential for extensive cooperation with the relevant state institutions and educational institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina. In this regard, confidence was expressed that the signed "Agreement on cooperation in the field of protection from natural and other disasters between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina" will create a solid basis for the expansion of relations.
Expressing his gratitude for the friendly meeting, the Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina Nenad Nešić touched on the successful cooperation between the two countries. He pointed out that his country is sensitive to various emergency situations and gave detailed information about the work done in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the field of combating emergency situations.
N. Nešić expressed that they are interested in developing cooperation with the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan in this direction. The guest expressed his confidence that the signed Agreement will open new opportunities for the realization of various forms of cooperation in the field of emergency management, including joint exercises, between the relevant institutions of the two countries.
At the meeting, a wide range of views was exchanged on issues of mutual interest.
In the end, the "Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Protection against Natural and other disasters between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina" was signed. The agreement was signed by Colonel-General Kamaladdin Heydarov, Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and Nenad Nesic, Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Later, the guests got acquainted with the Operation Hall of the Crisis Management Center and Multimedia Center of the public relations department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
