“Globally, the fight against corruption, which knows no borders, remains a complex yet essential challenge that requires a joint, coordinated, and resolute approach,” said Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev at the opening of the 6th Plenary Meeting of the United Nations Global Operational Network of Anti-Corruption Law Enforcement Authorities – the GlobE Network, APA reports.
The Prosecutor General noted that today’s plenary session is a manifestation of this global will: “In recent years, Azerbaijan has become an important international center hosting global initiatives. Just last year, our country hosted the UN COP29 Climate Conference and the 29th Annual Conference of the International Association of Prosecutors and everal significant events were successfully organized, including a high-level session on the fight of law enforcement agencies against environmental crimes.
As an active member of the GlobE Network, Azerbaijan highly values this platform. This network contributes to strengthening international cooperation, promoting integrity, and jointly combating transnational corruption. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, particularly its anti-corruption body ‘Nazaha,’ has played an invaluable role in the creation and development of this initiative. We deeply appreciate their contributions and leadership in this important global endeavor.
Together, we strive to build a more transparent, honest world with confidence in the future. To leave behind a just society and a clear tomorrow for future generations, we must take one step further in this fight.”
