Due to continuous and long exposures in the sun, the activity has risen to a high level, the Department of Astrophysics of the Faculty of Physics of Baku State University told APA.
Solar activity has created magnetic storms on Earth due to M (blocking radio waves, preventing them from propagating) and X (strong) flares.
Reported that due to coronal mass ejections that occurred on the Sun, a magnetic storm of G1 (mild) and later G2 (moderate) level occurred on September 16. At night, the hurricane level reached G3 (strong). The magnetic storm will continue until noon on September 17. After a few hours, the Earth's geomagnetic field will return to its normal level.
A geomagnetic storm is felt at the G2-G3 level in high geographic latitudes, and at the G1 level in middle geographic latitudes.
