"The transfer of floodwaters formed during periods of intensive atmospheric precipitation on the slopes of the Hakari River must be taken into account. Fifty percent of Khanlig village, 15 percent of Mughanli village, and 70 percent of Zilanli village have been designed as areas at risk of flooding. The high permeability and filtration properties of the surrounding rocks cause groundwater levels to form close to the surface in these rural areas," Ali Aliyev, Chairman of the Board of the Geological Exploration Agency of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, stated at the latest meeting of the Interagency Center’s Working Group on Environmental Issues held in Khankendi, APA’s Karabakh bureau reports.
He also emphasized that there are nearly 350 mineral occurrences in the liberated territories.
