The funeral ceremony of Fatma Sattarova, Chairperson of Organization of War, Labor, and Armed Forces Veterans of the Republic of Azerbaijan, participant of the Second World War, was held, APA reports.
Fatma Sattarova was buried in II Alley of Honor.
President Ilham Aliyev and first lady Mehriban Aliyeva sent a wreath to the funeral of Fatma Sattarova. A wreath was placed on the grave.
Noted that 102-year-old Fatma Sattarova died today.
F.Sattarova was born in 1922 in Baku. In the first months of the Second World War, she volunteered to go to the front as a nurse. She participated in the battles for Moscow in 1941-1942.
F.Sattarova went to Berlin in the ranks of the Soviet army. In February 1945, she was discharged from the army by the decision of the medical commission due to her illness. She accompanied the echelon of the wounded and returned to Baku.
She was awarded the Order of Independence on January 24, 2022, according to the relevant Decree of President Ilham Aliyev. She was a presidential pensioner.
