An official statement has been issued regarding the closure of the Salt Museum in Nakhchivan, the Ministry of Culture of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic told APA.

The exhibits of the museum will be transferred to the Nakhchivan State History Museum and displayed in a section to be created there:

“The Nakhchivan State History Museum is a place where the history, culture, and underground and surface resources of our people are exhibited, and it is also the museum most frequently visited by both local and foreign visitors. For this reason, it has been decided to transfer the exhibits from the collection of the dissolved Nakhchivan Salt Museum to the collection of this museum.”

It was noted that the Salt Museum was established by the order of the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic dated September 12, 2017. The museum previously had one exhibition hall and two service rooms allocated in the Duzdag Hotel, where visitors were served. In 2023, since the managing organization of the Duzdag Hotel changed, the museum was relocated to the “Nakhchivangala” Historical-Architectural Museum Complex.

The majority of the 138 exhibits in the museum are made of salt material.
