"I have been on visits to Azerbaijan many times since I have been elected. Now it is my first time visiting liberated territories to see destructions committed during the occupation of Armenia. Large-scale reconstruction and restoration work is underway for people to return back to these beautiful places," said head of the UK-Azerbaijan inter-parliamentary friendship group Bob Blackman who is on a visit to Agdam city of Azerbaijan, APA reports.
According to him everyone wants to return to their homeland: “Their families had lived here, these people want to return back to their roots”.
British Parliamentarian stressed that issue of mine is serious in those territories and major works are underway regarding the demining work: “Other than that fantastic works are being carried out in the direction of building new roads, and railways. We look around, everywhere was destroyed during these years, and during 30 years, there are traces of destruction everywhere. Although military operations took place here, almost every house was destroyed separately, and their materials were taken. You can see the environment, and buildings in the previous pictures of these territories, people loved to live here. And it is not surprising for me to see that people want to return back here".
Bob Blackman added that it will take some time to fully ensure living conditions and establish agriculture: "At the same time, the achievements achieved so far in the liberated areas are fantastic, the construction of schools, construction of roads, etc.
