A large Azerbaijani delegation, led by Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev, paid a working visit to Singapore to attend the 30th Annual Conference and General Meeting of the International Association of Prosecutors (IAP), Prosecutor General's Office told APA.
At the event, the Prosecutor General was presented with a certificate of appreciation for the successful organization of the 29th IAP Annual Conference and General Meeting in Baku, organized by the Prosecutor General's Office. Kamran Aliyev noted that this award, in addition to reflecting the country’s growing prestige in the international community, also serves as recognition of the effective global activities of the Azerbaijani Prosecutor's Office.
The conference also featured a session themed “Specialized Network for Combating Economic Crime and Assets Recovery.” Moderated by Isfandiyar Hajiyev, Head of the Organizational and Information Support Department of the Chief Anti-Corruption Office under the Prosecutor General, the session included remarks by Deputy Prosecutor General Heydar Mammadov, who highlighted Azerbaijan’s experience in tackling financial crime, recovering assets, and applying modern technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI) and advanced data analysis tools.
On the sidelines of the event, Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev held bilateral meetings with the Head of the Crown Prosecution Service of the UK, the Attorneys General of Saudi Arabia, Sweden, and Lithuania, as well as the Deputy Attorneys General of Malaysia and Brazil. The parties discussed the current state of cooperation and prospects for further development.
The sides emphasized the importance of enhancing collaboration against transnational crime, particularly through mutual legal assistance in criminal cases, extradition, and the sharing of experience and information. They underlined that joint, trust-based efforts are vital in combating international crime and also discussed the possibility of signing a Memorandum of Cooperation to expand these efforts.
The event was also attended by Azerbaijani Ambassador to Indonesia Ramil Rzayev.
